About the Artist

pam hatch - Biography

A  native Texan, Pam Hatch developed a keen interest in art as a child. Her maternal grandmother, who was an artist, taught her to see the world with an artist's eye by encouraging her to see beauty in the mundane and the unusual as she drove Pam around Galveston Island in her turquoise Nash Rambler.

After painting "everything" for many years, today Pam is more often turning to those things that touch her to the core. She often finds herself awestruck by our ever changing wetlands and landscapes, enchanted and entertained by the diversity of our people and driven to record and express the strong emotions she feels when visiting historic and sacred sites.

After many years of painting and teaching, Pam has found that she gets as much enjoyment observing the delight her students express in their paintings as she does when she creates her own finished works.   Although Pam taught drawing classes for children for many years,  teaching art in the early years of the Gifted and Talented Program in CCISD and working with the Homeschool Program at the First Baptist Church in Clear Lake,  she is currently teaching adults and teens to paint with pastel on paper and with acrylic on canvas at Upper Bay Frame and Gallery in League City.

An award winning painter, Pam has been recognized in many one-woman and group shows and has had work published in the CIVA International Directory of Christian Artists.  She has studied with he late Texas artist Dick Turner  and more recently with master pastellist Albert Handell.

Pam  teaches and resides in Houston's Clear Lake area where a collection of her work can be seen at Upper Bay Frame and Gallery, League City , Texas.
